How to Sign Up to
Become a Clickbank Affiliate
Clickbank Hoplink Instructions & Tutorial
Clickbank is the company that
handles the processing of our purchase transactions,
as well as all tracking and accounting for our affiliate program. All commission checks and
payments are mailed out to affiliates, or direct
deposited into their bank accounts, directly
from Clickbank. In order to promote The
Neuropathy Solution you must first become a Clickbank affiliate.
How to Sign Up to Become a Clickbank Affiliate
If
you’ve not yet done so, setting up your Clickbank account is the very first step in becoming an
affiliate.
Fortunately, setting up a Clickbank
account is easy, and FREE!
Click here and a new window will open up that takes you to
the Clickbank.com sign-up page. On the sign-up
page you can pick your
own special Clickbank account name (also called a Clickbank
“nickname” or “CBID”).
After you’ve set up your clickbank
account, you’re ready to start promoting the The
Neuropathy Solution
through your special affiliate hoplinks.
See the
instructions and tutorial below
for help using hoplinks with The Neuropathy
Solution.
When someone purchases The Neuropathy Solution after coming through your link
(which is tracked thanks to your hoplink), you receive 75% commission
on each sale. What's more, your hoplink will
identify you as the source of the lead for up to 60
days. In this way, if a customer needs some time to
think about an offer before returning to make a
purchase, you'll still get a commission on the sale.
It's slick, accurate and profitable.
Clickbank Hoplink Instructions & Tutorial
Once you have signed up at Clickbank
for an affiliate account you are ready to start
promoting and marketing The Neuropathy Solution. Clickbank is FREE for affiliates, so if you haven't signed up yet
or go to
www.clickbank.com and choose the "Sign Up" link
under the "Affiliates" headline.
Marketing The Neuropathy Solution is extremely simple! In fact,
it is as easy as putting special Internet links on your
web pages, newsletters and elsewhere which will send traffic
to the The Neuropathy Solution website. These special
links are called “CLICKBANK HOPLINKS” and they are
important because this is how Clickbank keeps track of
the traffic you send to our website, which
in turn allows you to earn a commission on the sales you
generate.
The first item of business after you have signed up for
a Clickbank affiliate account is to understand how to make
a hoplink. Keep in mind that making a hoplink incorrectly
is akin to putting an ad in the Yellow Pages with the wrong
phone number! Remember: You alone are responsible
for ensuring that your hoplinks are coded correctly.
TUTORIAL: Creating Your Hoplink
A properly created hoplink is formatted like this:
http://xxxxxxx.vendor.hop.clickbank.net
To make this hoplink functional, a couple of elements must
now be customized. First, "vendor" must be replaced
with the actual vendor or product name. In the case
of The Neuropathy Solution you will use "neursolpro".
The modified hoplink will then look like this:
http://xxxxxxx.neursolpro.hop.clickbank.net
The remaining step is to insert your Clickbank affiliate
nickname (also referred to as a "ClickBank ID" or "CBID")
in the place of the xxxxxx's in the hoplink.
If your affiliate nickname is "jamesblog", for
example, the modified hoplink would look like this:
http://jamesblog.neursolpro.hop.clickbank.net
That’s all there is to it! Now, when someone clicks
your hoplink they will be redirected to the
The Neuropathy Solution website and a small
tracking file known as a "cookie" will be placed onto the computer of the visitor,
“marking” the visitor as a referral you generated.
Clickbank uses 60-day cookies, which means that you will
get the commission (currently 75% of net sale) from a purchase
made by a visitor you send to the The Neuropathy
Solution
website, whether it is made the day of the first visit,
or at any time within the next 60 days. Clickbank
also uses what is known as “last cookie”, which means the
last affiliate cookie placed on the visitor's computer will
get credit. If someone visits the The
Neuropathy Solution
website through your hoplink, but then leaves only to visit
the website again through someone else’s hoplink, the owner
of the second hoplink will get credit. Conversely, if your
hoplink is clicked last you will get the credit.
If you are using
hoplinks on a web page, tests have shown that when
people realize they are being "sold" something on a commission
basis (as opposed to simply getting a “recommendation” from
an independent 3rd party) the conversion rate can drop,
therefore it’s best to “hide” your affiliate hoplink in
your HTML code and use
www.theneuropathysolution.com
as the display link where possible.
Obfuscated Links
Some Clickbank affiliates choose to create what is called
an obfuscated link by using a link generator found on the
Clickbank site:
Clickbank Hoplink Generator
An obfuscated link created with the Clickbank generator
will look similar to this:
http://060933kslong53q3ev21z1.hop.clickbank.net
Though it looks different, it actually the same
hoplink as the one that follows, and will lead the
visitor to the same destination:
http://jamesblog.neursolpro.hop.clickbank.net
TIDs
A TID stands for "Tracking ID". This is something
you can add to the end of your hoplink in the query
string for tracking purposes (the query string is
everything after the ? in a URL). It looks like this:
http://jamesblog.neursolpro.hop.clickbank.net?tid=ad1
When you make a sale with the TID included the value (in
this case “ad1″) will show up in the TID column of the
transactions page in ClickBank. You can use these
tracking IDs to find out which of your ads and/or links are the most effective and then optimize
the ones that are less effective, either by changing the
ad/text or the location in which the ads are placed.
Hoplink Choices
The The Neuropathy Solution website offers a
number of different content pages to land on. If you use
the hoplink as it is described above you will land on
our video "sales page". This is generally the most
effective if you are using paid traffic. However if you
are using other sources of traffic you may want to test
out sending traffic to other pages on our site. Don’t
worry most of the content leads the user back to the
sales page, but even if it does not the user might
browse around or sign up for Dr. Labrum's Neuropathy
012
Bulletin newsletter, which all
leads them back to purchasing the product. Remember your ClickBank cookie will last 60 days and for some users a
certain level of trust must be built up before they
purchase.
Simple Instructions to Link to Almost Any Page on the
"The Neuropathy Solution" website
Here are
some instructions to link to almost any page on the
The Neuropathy Solution website.
Let’s say, for example, you like our "New American Epidemic"" and you want to link to it.
The link to this article on our website is:
http://www.theneuropathysolution.com/new_american _epidemic_article.htm
The hoplink we created above looks similar to:
http://jamesblog.neursolpro.hop.clickbank.net
To add the "New American Epidemic" to your hoplink, we first simply
copy the portion of the Quiz's link highlighted here
below:
http://www.theneuropathysolution.com/new_american
_epidemic_article.htm
Next, we place the copied portion of the link at the end of your hoplink as a querystring
parameter called “page” -- querystring was mentioned
above in the TID section. As a result, your new hoplink
will look like this:
http://jamesblog.neursolpro.hop.clickbank.net?page=new_american_epidemic_article.htm
It is important to take the entire url after the “/”
in the intial website link.
Adding a TID to this hoplink, as discussed above, is
similarly easy. In the example below we will use
one more parameter ("tid" in addition to "page"),
although querystring parameters can essentially be
unlimited as long as they are separated by the ampersand
symbol "&". The order of the parameters does
not matter. In the example below we will once again use
"ad1":
http://jamesblog.neursolpro.hop.clickbank.net?tid=ad1&page=new_american_epidemic_article.htm
Easy enough! Now you can link to any page on the
The Neuropathy Solution site that a
potential customer might be interested in.
